Actions for Freedom

Conversations on more than 50 actions to expand freedom in the United States

We should decrease the number of green cards issued to legal residents' relatives who are not members of the nuclear family.

We should increase the number issued to high-skilled immigrants.

Immigrants have founded about 25% of the technology companies in the U.S. To import immigrant entrepreneurs, we should have a Jobs Creator Visa. It would be temporary for an immigrant who creates a business and is already here on another visa. It would be extended when the firm hires at least one American non-family resident. It would become permanent when the firm hires at least five American non-family residents. (Robert E. Litan, Kauffman Foundation, Opinion, Wall Street Journal, A19, March 8, 2010)

If loopholes can be plugged, concept sounds good.
The following was reported by the American Conservative Union on May 23, 2010.

Obama's head of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told a reporter that "his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona officials."

Under Arizona's tough new immigration law, law enforcement officials in Arizona who find illegal immigrants would turn them over to the federal authorities for action.

However, this taxpayer-paid bureaucrat has said he will ignore Arizona state authorities. He told the Chicago Tribune, "I don't think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution."
"A coalition of community groups in Trenton is issuing photo identification cards to illegal immigrants. The cards are not government IDs, though they are accepted by many check-cashing companies, libraries, stores, and medical clinics, and at public parks and pools." (New York Times editorial, May 21, 2010)
Dear Sir;

You are no the mark. However, we must secure our borders our borders first before and discussion about who or who will not be allowed into the U.S.. You make great points many of which I agree to, but without secure borders everything is mute. Support secure borders then we will deal with the rest.

Your friend,
Robert Terry
